Biographical notes for John Thomson
The Biographical Index of South Australia contains the following entry for Robert :
His parents were John and Janet nee Logie. Born 1827, at Kirkaldy, Fife, Scotland. Died 30 September 1912, at North Adelaide, SA. Buried at Mt Pleasant Cemetery. Arrived at Port Adelaide in 1839 aboard "MOFFAT". Occupations were farmer, station overseer and pastoralist. His residences were at Towitta, Rhine Creek, Cournamont Station, and Mt Pleasant. His religion was Presbyterian. He was married on 27 April 1849, at Adelaide, SA, to Elizabeth MacGregor nee Thomson. She was born about 1829 at Cournamont, SA., and died 13 May 1904. Their children were Euphemia Denton (? ), Elizabeth Scott (c1850 - ), Margaret Magdalene Milne (?), a daughter (1863 - ), John William (c1865 - ), four daughters and a son.
